A personal mentor — a working journalist
An intern works on a reported story together with an experienced colleague who helps find a strong topic, define the focus of the piece, and go through the entire process from idea to finished text.
Weekly editorial meetings, just like in a real newsroom
We discuss how each story is progressing, share contacts of characters and experts, look for answers together, and support one another.
Media publications and fees for published texts
We sell finished pieces to media outlets. The intern receives a fee from the editorial team for every published longread.
Meetings with outstanding journalists and professional seminars
We invite leading journalists, editors and editors-in-chief to public online meetings to discuss impactful stories, ethical dilemmas and professional challenges.
For emerging writers who want to learn journalism through practice, work on real stories, get published and receive support from a community.
You do not need extensive experience. What matters to us is your interest in journalism, curiosity about life, and willingness to work on text thoughtfully and consistently. The internship lasts at least one year, so please assess your time and motivation carefully.
The full cost of the internship is 10,000 rubles per month. This money goes to the mentor for working with the intern.
We cover half of the amount through donations. This means the intern pays 5,000 rubles per month for an internship with Blue Capybaras.
You will be able to cover these costs through fees for your published reports. We guarantee you a free place on the team as soon as one becomes available.
To become an intern, fill out the application form. In the form, we will ask you to think especially carefully about topics for future reported stories.
