Meetings with outstanding journalists for donations
Want to write, but do not know where to start? Afraid to pitch ideas, unsure how editorial teams work, and feel like every door into the profession is closed? That is normal. We created a space where you can ask these questions to experienced colleagues.
Blue Capybaras organize open online meetings with well-known journalists and editors-in-chief from leading media outlets.
We hold these meetings for our interns and decided to make them open, so emerging journalists who could not join our internship can also attend.
If this format matters to you, support the meetings with a donation — it helps us invite great speakers, go on reporting trips and write stories about Russia.
Open editorial meeting with Rita Loginova:
how to work with stigmatized topics.
How editorial teams work with freelance writers
How to come up with and pitch a story idea so that media outlets want it
How to build your own strategy in the profession
How much journalists get paid and how to negotiate fees
What ethical rules and risks exist in journalism
You do not need to pass a selection process or buy a 20-module program. Each meeting is a separate live conversation with a specific journalist who has gone through this path themselves. We invite not only stars, but also people who started where you are now — and made it.
For emerging writers who want to get published in strong media outlets but do not know how to get in
For those who write for themselves and want to turn it into a profession
For journalists who want to improve their skills and stay aware of what is happening in the profession
For freelancers who feel lonely and are looking for a community
